Some of the spaces that are often ignored in home organization and storage include hallway closets. Nonetheless, the small spaces should be well-styled to give an excellent outlook and an amazing appearance. Choosing the right design for your hallway closet will allow you to use every square inch and bring sophistication to your entry.

Numerous ideas exist on how to organize this room’s built-in free-standing closet for optimal storage and space use. Over the years, I’ve experimented with various ways to make my hallway closet not just functional but also stylish for my party themes.

I know everybody suffers from closet stuffy things, so this guide belongs to you – keep scrolling for 15 hallway closet ideas that set the right tone for your house.

Why You Should Think about Hallway Closet Ideas?

As I speak about myself, I was really tired of stuffy things like coats, shoes, umbrellas, and sometimes cleaning supplies or linens. This made be to think about the some ideas and like you to explore some ideas to get rid of the unordered things from the hall.

It is difficult to act upon the decision of closet style and storage. But once you are done with this process, you will have an appealing aesthetic approach to your hallway closet.

    15 Best Hallway Closet Ideas:

As I mentioned above, I have experienced multiple closet ideas, but I find some very suitable for all kinds of hallway closets. That’s why I detailed 15 hallway closet ideas, which are basically the crux of my whole experience.

    1. Install Storage Bins and Baskets:

The first thing I did was purchase fabric bins and baskets that were the same size and put items such as scarves, hats, gloves, and random items such as keys and umbrellas in them. The baskets immediately made the closet appear more organized and orderly than it had been before.

    2. Use Over-the-Door Hangers:

Then, I added four oversized over-the-door hangers for hanging clothes, towels, and reusable supermarket bags. This cleared out rod space and gave me a lot more vertical storage capability.

    3. Add Pull-Out Drawers:

Perhaps one of the most useful enhancements that I have done was to get pull-out drawers fitted to store items such as flashlights, batteries and other emergency items. This applies all the awkward narrow spaces of the room to the drawers and their contents are concealed but retrievable.

    5. Use Hanging Shoe Organizers:

Clothes were scattered around the floor of the closet until I bought two large shoe racks for hanging shoes. Approximately 20 pairs of shoes are placed and displayed while occupying virtually no floor space.

    6. Get Creative With Rods:

I mounted two additional closet rods—one for short garments such as folded jeans, T-shirts, and sweaters and another for longer garments like dresses and coats. This effectively doubled my hanging space. Now, I could neatly fold the clothes depending on the category, length, and season.

    7. Maximize Wall Space:

For paints, tools, and cleaning supplies, which I did not want to use frequently but needed to have quick access, I fixed a tall and thin locker cabinet. I also put up magnetic spice racks and mountable shelves for additional storage.

    8. Try Closet Inserts:

Recently, I got a new system installed, which has shelves, drawers, rods, and cabinets added to them since they were placed according to the existing layout of the room. It certainly took a lot to get there but the sleek appearance and extra storage space is worth it!

Some Additional Hallway Closet Ideas to Look:

Here are some additional hallway closet ideas for you that you can consider as per your preferences.

    9. Add designer elements:To add style to my formerly bland closet, I painted it a sleek grey, replaced the ceiling light with a crystal chandelier, and installed an elegant area rug with an ottoman bench at the door.

    10. Incorporate specific zones:I now have specific areas in the closet for coats, dresses, handbags/ shoes/ accessories, linens, seasons/ sports/ etc. Labels also aid in organization.

    11. Use specialized storage:I arrange folded clothes such as scarves and ties on spaced wall bars, head wears such as hats on hat stands, jewelries and sunglasses on wall hung or mounted stands.

    12. Try freestanding elements:I effectively utilize a slim coat tree and freestanding shoe storage. They store articles where they are easily visible. These are designed to fit into narrow areas without requiring permanent mounting.

    13. Add extra lighting:Any closet needs to be well-lit, so I installed regular ceiling lights, as well as battery-operated motion-sensor LED lights for any dark corners, including drawers.

    14. Incorporate personal style:To further enhance this aspect of my personality, I added retro trunks and crates to the closet along with macramé hangers and embroidered storage pouches. The themes are eclectic and artistic to put on a dress every morning a fun process.

    15. Maintain the System:

Much as a closet can be arranged in an orderly manner, it creases to be orderly after sometime without proper discipline. This I do every now and then, take off items that are not frequently used, place seasonal items in another area and rearrange the categories so that I do not see the system becoming worst over time. Just a little effort daily will go a long way in keeping any closet free from clutter.

    Finally what for you?

As you can observe, there is always a challenge in altering hallway closet into unique storage spaces. This past year I had to really feel my way through and experiment a lot in order to find out what is most effective.

Still, I can now really appreciate my hallway closet and everything that the style as well as the storage benefits. The system I created for my limited space has made me less anxious to organize tasks. Perhaps, the hallway closet ideas I have gathered on my way will be useful for you to turn your difficult closet into a real treasure trove!
